This was the week of big fish with our anglers boating 22 peacock bass 20 lbs. or better, 208 10 lbs. or better, and 2,572 peacocks total. In first place we had a tie with Russ and Wesley both with 23.5 lb. peacocks. In second is Stephen with a 23-pounder. In third we had tied between Craig, Karl, Keith, Paul, Robert, and Wilson (he caught his the very last day) who all had 22-pounders. Other Amazon Monster club members are Karl and Tom Anderson with 21-pounders, Greg Jr., Robyn, Ron Zickert, Terry St. Peters, and Brenda (she waited until the last day to catch hers) who all had 20-pounders.
Not far behind were Bill, Dirk, and Ryan who all had 19-pounders. Dan Bosman, Brink, and Tom Goodwin had beautiful 18-pounders.
Besides catching a nice 16-pounder, Boyce had the most fish of the week at 167. Our only fly-fisherman John Fuchs didn’t do too bad at all catching 147 peacocks to come in second place for the most fish this week. In third for the most fish for the week was Steve Harper with 130.
I guess studying Portuguese worked out for Jason as he caught over 100 fish and a 14-pounder.
Husband and wife Pat and Melanie tied both catching 16-pounders for their big fish of the week, though Pat did manage to pull in one more 16-pounder on the last day.
Terry Muffler had a nice 14-pounder this week.
When Dean and Troy weren’t after peacocks, they were exploring the wonders of the Amazon its people and surroundings.
Greg Sr. caught not one but two 16-pounders.
Another one who waited until the last day to catch his big fish was John Bruder with a nice 14-pounder.
Creighton came just shy of 100 fish this week with 97.
Ron Kelley and Ron Sanderson were two fairly competitive fishing partners, and both tied on big fish at 16 lbs. each, except Ron Sanderson managed to catch one more 16-pounder than Ron Kelley, though Ron Kelley caught more fish.
Danny Fletcher had two beautiful 16-pounders this week.
